Once a service has been completed, it is time to credit the provider of the service with the agreed upon number of hours.
Even though the TIme Bank software allows us to record these hours in several different ways, we strongly recommend that it be done primarily one way:
The recipient of the service should be responsible for recording the hours.
This is the scenario that this tutorial will cover and should be sufficient for most Time Bank members.
As the recipient of a completed service, when you are ready to credit the service provider with the hours they’ve earned, take the following steps:
Login to the Time Bank.
Click on “Hours” in the button bar.
In the pull-down menu labeled “Did you provide or receive?”, select “I Received this Service”.
Next to “Enter the number of hours:”, fill in the agreed number of hours.
Click on the box next to “Enter the exchange date:”. A calendar will appear. Click on the date the service was provided. If you don’t remember the exact date, click on today’s date.
Next to “To/from how many members:”, leave the value as “1”.
Click on the “Continue” button.
Next to “Type part of the member’s name here:”, start typing the service provider’s name. Once their name appears, click on it.
Click on the “Continue” button.
Next to “Type part of the name of service or category:”, start typing the name of one of the categories listed. Once the category appears, click on it.
Click on the “Continue” button.
Next to “Were you satisfied with the service you received?”, indicate yes or no.
Next to “Would you be willing to be contacted by other members to provide a reference?”, indicate yes or no.
In the box in which appears “Select Service”, select the appropriate service from the pull-down menu.
In the box labeled “Comments”, add any comments you may wish regarding this transaction.
Click on the “Record Transaction” button.
You’re done! After a few seconds, you will be taken to your “Statement” page where you can review your transactions.
